Treatment
Most medial and lateral epicondylitis cases respond well to non-surgical treatments. Treatment usually includes rest, specific exercises, and the application of ice to the affected area to relieve pain. Anti-inflammatory medications or corticosteroid injections may also be prescribed. Forearm bands and wrist splints can be used to relieve symptoms and hasten healing. If non-surgical treatment fails, surgical treatment is considered.
If left untreated, medial or lateral epicondylitis can become chronic, so it’s important to deal with the condition early and properly. A trusted San Jose walk-in clinic such as U.S. HealthWorks Medical Group clinics, can provide you the treatment you need to regain function of your elbow joint.
