Urgent Care Clinics: Dizziness and Heat-Related Issues Amidst Drought

Amidst the severe case of drought California is currently experiencing, health professionals and urgent care clinics from all over the state are warning against the effects of the extreme heat. The latest drought monitor figures still show that most parts of the state are experiencing D4 level (exceptional) drought. Some counties are faring better but not by much. In San Jose, the temperatures can reach as high as 94 degrees Fahrenheit with nonexistent chances of precipitation. It even got so hot last July that the Guadalupe River dried up completely, endangering the species depending on it and killing off the fish. The extreme heat brought on by the drought is said to be California’s driest four-year period since 1850. Also, it’s not only affecting the wildlife but the residents of the locale as well. Extreme heat can lead like dehydration and dizziness from overexposure to the sun.

Urgent Care in San Jose: About the City’s Worsening Air Conditions

San Jose, California lies in the heart of Silicon Valley, and many tech companies like eBay, Cisco, and Adobe call the city home. Unfortunately, the location is also home to one very negative aspect to health—air pollution. According to the American Lung Association’s 2015 State of the Air report, the city is in the top 10 most polluted areas of the nation, figuring in at number 6. The area’s air problem is compounded by the drought and heat that continues to plague the state of California. Periods of no air prevent pollution from leaving the area, and thus promote its accumulation over time. As a result of prolonged pollution levels, many people are heading to urgent care centers in San Jose to seek a solution for their breathing problems.

Let San Jose urgent care help your stay safe during the Bubble Run!

Since 2013, the annual Bubble Run has been a huge part San Jose’s “fun-run” options. And on June 13th it’s time to get together for another one! We’ve all heard of the traditional 5K races, but the Bubble Run is a 3-mile wonderland of foam that has no expectations, except for you to just come out and have good clean fun! Described as a “giant effervescent party” the Bubble Run is an all day event that includes an after-race party with DJ’s and plenty of fun for the entire family. Although the Bubble Run doesn’t brand itself as a competitively timed race the risk of injury is still possible. Preparing for a long, fun day of exercising out in the sun will serve you well and keep you safe throughout the entire event. Staying hydrated with plenty of fluids will ensure you and your family will have a day to remember. A lot of injuries take place when we least expect it, so being prepared to handle those instances will also help to make sure you’ll be able to avoid any long-term injuries
